MY STORY
A LIFETIME DEDICATED TO GOALKEEPING & SPORT
Hello, I'm Ray Newland, and I want to share my story with you. Born on July 19, 1971, in Liverpool, England, I embarked on a football journey that shaped my life in ways I never imagined. My career as a professional goalkeeper started as a trainee with Chester City, where I learned the ropes before moving to Welsh side Newtown, where in my first season I went on to win both the players' and supporters' player of the year.
I then went on to play professionally for Everton, Chester City (again), Torquay United, Clydebank, and Wigan Athletic over ten years as a professional goalkeeper.
